2. What data do we collect?

To help you value and manage your vehicle information, we collect:

Identity Data: Your name and email address.
Vehicle Data: Vehicle details you input.
Technical Data: Your IP address, browser type, and how you use our web app (via cookies).
Correspondence: Any messages you send to our [email protected] address.

3. Why do we collect this? (Legal Basis)

Under the Dutch AVG (GDPR), we process your data based on:

Performance of a Contract: We need your email and vehicle data to send you authentication code to access premium valuation services you have bought.
Legitimate Interest: To improve the accuracy of our valuation algorithms and ensure the security of our app.
Legal Obligation: If we process payments, we must keep records for 7 years for the Dutch Tax Office (Belastingdienst).

4. How long do we keep your data?

Active Accounts: We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data via [email protected].
Account Deletion: If you delete your account, your personal data is purged from our active databases within 30 days.
Valuation History: Anonymous vehicle data may be kept longer to improve our pricing models, but this will not be linked to your identity.

5. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. To run ValueYourCar, we share data with:

Email Infrastructure: Zoho Mail (using [email protected] for alerts and [email protected] for support).
Hosting Providers: Our servers where the app and database are securely stored.
Automotive Data Providers: We may share links with Autoscout24.nl and marktplaats.nl and other third-party databases to fetch car's technical specs.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use functional cookies to keep you logged in and analytical cookies to see how our app is performing. In accordance with Dutch law, if we use non-functional tracking cookies, we will ask for your explicit consent via a cookie banner.

7. Your Rights

Under the AVG, you have the following rights:

Access: You can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
Correction: You can ask us to fix incorrect vehicle or personal details.
Deletion: You can request the "Right to be Forgotten."
Complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority).
